Tire size for 3.55 gears
#11
Theirs so many factors in telling if a tire will fit or not if you don't know much about this subject, as a lot of people know for height wise 35" is the tallest you can go on a leveled 4x4 but the tougher question is tire width, and that all depends on the offset of your rims, back when i bought my 35s i had stock rims and i could only go with a 12" wide and with that width i couldn't even stick my pinkie in between the tire and uca so the more common 35 that is 12.5" wide would have never fit, now that i have 0 offset rims i have inches in between my tire and uca, so that we know 35 is the tallest, the question for you is width and you will need to know your offset for that, if you have a higher positive offset closer to stock you would need to stay with 12" width or less as stated above if its about +18 or less offset you would have no problem running a more common size 35" that's 12.5", now as far as 3.55s personally if it was my truck i wouldn't run 35s even tho a lot of people do it that doesnt mean its a good idea because that is a lot of tire for that gear ratio and no matter what anyone says it will shorten the life of your transmission specially if you live in a hilly area or tow and haul stuff, i have been around and saw a lot of people running 35s with 3.55s and having there trans go out with low miles, i would at least have 3.73s for 35s, 4.10s are ideal tho. i would stick to 33-34 tops with 3.55s 1 inch doesnt sound like it would make a huge difference but that 1 inch is the difference of quite a bit of tire revolutions per mile.
