Default Tire rolling resistance

Does a tire with a higher ply rating (Example:8 ply) have more rolling resistance, compared to a 4 ply rating tire? Just wondering if you get better gas milage withe a 4ply compared to an 8 ply.

Tire pressure, width, tread pattern, weight of vehicle, rubber compound, temperature of surface AND tire, all have a lot to do with rolling resistance. Number of plies, not as much.

^^^this^^^

if it is a concern, read lots of reviews and find the right compromise in terms of size, weight and longevity.

more ply's would typically be stiffer, which if properly aired up, could net better mpg's - but since they are also heavier it would more than likely offset any gain.
