Tire and lowering question has anyone done it?
I got a 2004 f150 ext cab. I am planing to lower my truck 2/4 but 2 of the local shops have told me the tire woud hit the fender if i go over speedbumps. My truk is sitting on 24s with 295/35R24 tires. My truck already has a shackle in the back but l want to go lower. Im wondering if anyone has lowered the their truck on 24s with this tire the shops tell me i need smaller tires but the ride will get bumpier. Any recomendations?

that is their personal opinion, ive seen plenty of lowered F150's on 24's....2" isnt going to make that huge of a difference, just be careful of going over bumps while turning, other than that, youll be fine man!! the suspension doesnt compress that much at all, and when it does, it forces the tire inside the fender....think about it, control arm suspension compresses in an arc shape.....i would go to a different shop that doesnt complain about every little thing, these are the shops you have to watch out for!! if you were in houston, i would help you install the kit so you didnt have to deal with sorry **** shops like these....good luck
