tinted rear glass
so i had a roll of 5% tint over from tinted my rear taillight on my quad so i was bored and thought i would put it to use. its not the best tint since its from my local auto store, (i have llumar on the two fronts and brow) so i just wanted to see what a difference it would make before i bought the real deal or my guy did it for me.
it makes a huge difference.
1. u cant see in at all which is awesome
2. at night u have no glare of lights in your rear view mirror or up on the headliner
3. its dark inside keeping it real cool, temp wise
4. you can still see out the back at night and in rain which i was afraid of that i couldnt
heres the problem i have now: all i have to do is decide what i wanna do with the other windows bc they look clear now hahahhaha
either 5% over the stock all rears and replace do 5% over the fronts
or
15% over the two side rears, 5% over back, and 5% up front
some pics:
here i messed up, i wanted to work from left to right but mocked up the tint on the wrong side so when i came in the cab it had to go on the window u see below which is fine.
i just finished my second window before my dad came home and i had to hide everything hahahaha
barely see thru
you can really see the difference between the stock tint, yes the window is up haha and its not purple at all, just the camera made it that way with no flash

A friend of mine with 5% on the fronts says that he wishes he would've gone with 15% instead. In the day time he loves it but at night it is a BITCH, and he has knocked off his mirror thanks to the tint. So keep that in mind.

bc tint on different cars varies. i understand what your saying and people say its gonna be black. if you have a dodge magnum and a f150, the magnum is going to look darker since the windows are like half the size of ours and theres less light coming in.

I put 2.5% on my front doors and it was to dark, at night I couldn't see anything outside other than the actual lightbulb from the source so I ended up taking it off, I am now looking to do 7% all the way around

so i got my windows retinted and went with 5% all around and its not bad at all at night. i can see thru at my mirrors and everything. it was pouring last night and usually the tints are bad in the rain but i had no problem seeing.

i got 15 % all the way around and the strip on top of windshield is 15 also... at night it is ok but during the day i almost wish it was darker... but it is a good tint for all around purpose.
Of course it may also depend on what brand of tint is used.
