Default Time for some shocks

Im in need of some new shocks, i noticed my rear sits a bit on the passenger side. about 1 and a half inches. right now i have a stage 1 pro comp lift with es9000 shocks in the rear. i am fine with just getting a new set of those but have also been looking at the mx6 that they make. have any of you used those? im thinkning i should probably get new for the front too. since its a stage one i am still using a normal size front shock right? never bought aftermarket shocks before so i just want to make sure i spend my money wisely.

I had the MX6's on my 05 Jeep Wrangler "*****'s" edition and loved everything about them except the install...toughest things to get compressed to fit. Concern i have for you is that the shocks don't provide ride height, the springs do, so if you are listing to one side or the other you more than likely have sagging springs for whatever reason and should look into that first. Unless you have a shock that has completely failed and in that case I guess it could be partly to blame for the ride height issue, which by way you dont mention if its higher or lower on that side.

sorry, its about 1 1/2 inches lower on the passenger side. so your saying that it is most likely the leaf springs that are causing this? rather then the shocks? i will have to look into this. is there any way of narrowing this down with out actually taking it apart?

The shock absorbs movement, a spring or torsion of some kind is what gives the vehicle height or rebound from movement. Check everything on both sides for any kind of clean areas, this will show any movement that has happened recently. You may just have a spring pack that is worn out. Did this just happen or has it been this way for a while, how many miles on truck, do you use it to tow or haul heavy items?

the truck has 70k on it. i just recently bought it about a month ago. the only towing i have done with it was a 12ft trailor but it was pretty empty and only pulled for about 10 miles. so im not really sure if it was there before or not. ill go snap a couple of pictures real fast so you can see.

Pics will help, also check the springs mounting areas and all around that area where the shock mounts too. Could be that something beside the spring has failed or worn out.

^ what he said.

It's rare for a single spring pack to just start sagging. I'd look at the mount areas and the lift blocks. Something may be bent or missing.

Can't tell much from the photos, other than what it's not. Its not a bed mount issue, as it is still level with your bumper, so it tells me that it is in the spring/perch/shock mount area where you have the issue. Best to look at all of it underneath with a good flashlight and see if anything is broken/loose. It would seem strange to have that spring fail and not the other one so it's more than likely a fitment/worn out issue of a mount.
