tie rod end removal
Anyone know where I can get an inner tie rod end removal tool for a 2004 F150? the harbor freight kit isn't big enough. Also does anyone know the wrench size need for the bolt on the outer tie rod?

I wouldn't look at harbor freight for those tools. Maybe jumper cables or something least to do with any vehicle (especially our truck) but I personally wouldn't look at harbor freight unless you need something that won't last long.

That'll work, or just get a decent size crescent wrench. No need for a special tool.
Make sure when you remove the ITR from the rack, you (or a helper) holds the rack stationary (keep it from rotating). This can be done by holding the driver's side ITR stud while loosening the passenger side. Or (if the driver's side breaks away before the passenger side) you can put a crescent wrench on the rack teeth on the driver's side to hold it steady.
Rotating the rack can compress the yoke spring too much, and cause all kinds of issues.

I have a tool that I use for removing ball joints as well as tie rods, and basically it is a pulley puller, but it is shaped like a "C" with a bolt in the middle that as you rotate it tightens onto the ball joint and the teeth of the "C" pull on the area around the ball joint
