Ticking noise when I start it
When I start my truck, it makes a ticking noise for a couple seconds, it is the same noise that you hear when you put on a new oil filter until it fills up. I'm using a motorcraft oil filter, if anyone knows what it could be, let me know.

i get that sound a little bit myself...almost sounds like a baby diesel at points...not as loud as one by far...but it has been to the dealer for service and nothing was ever mentioned of there being a problem with it...idk...

ive havnt heard this on my ford yet but my moms malibu sounds like the rod is going to go through the block until it warms up. its piston slap and is very common on those cars and my old 99 gmc sierra 4.8 would tick very lightly until it was warmed up and if you ask a mechanic its just piston slap. i dont think it will hurt anything unless its realy bad then it may weaken the piston skirts. just my thoughts
