Default HELP ME!!! Locking lug nut knew broke!

Just as the title states I was installing locking lug nuts on my truck and the key broke!!! The lug nut isn't on tight but tight enuff to drive home from school! But I need help ASAP beccuse my dad is on a trip for work untill tomorow night and I want to fix it before he gets home for obvious reasons!

this is why i dont use locking lug nuts. take a socket that is just a hair bigger than one that will fit in there. hold it there and hammer the **** out of it to get it stuck in it. the attach a wrench to the socket and take off. you will ruin the socket doing this, but only easy way. pair of vice-grips might work since you said it isnt on that tight.

Ok thanks I will be trying that as soon as I get to work tonight. Damn 20$ locking lug nuts!!

go with spline lugs and you will never have that happen again.good luck getting that off...do it like milredneck told you.

If I can't get it off I will be taking a trip to my dads dealership and hope they can take care of it and not tell him lol.

The trick of pounding on a socket works well. You may need to use a metric socket to find the right size.

I have had success with vice grips, but you have to put some muscle behind it when clamping them down.

damn thats expensive! i would try bangin a regular socket on it/vice grips before i bought that.

I was going to get that for a back up plan beccuse a shop will charge upwords of $100 for this task. And odds are I will need it agin.
