Default throttle lag really pissin me off!

i have an 08 F1 w/ 18,000 miles. i know these trucks are drive by wire, but really? does anyone know of a fix w/o the purchase of a programmer?
p.s. it is a super cab/ long bed 5.4 "heavy duty" (7 lug **** wheels) are there any decent looking 7-lug wheels that dont cost a left nut?

my truck is also 2wd.
i'd also like input on what mileage you guys changed brakes at. i just feel like i've been complaining about them way too much, but i've been driving on warped, squeeking brakes for prob 5,000 miles

Programmer is about your only option. Trust me it makes a HUGE difference in throttle response, well worth the cost.

you can get a little better throttle response by replacing the portion of the intake tube that goes into the fender well. It is 2" from the factory and if you replace it with a 3" you will notice a difference. There will still be a slight hesitation but nothing like it was from the factory. you will need to sand the end of the tube down some to fit it into the fender opening. this opening is oblong not oval. You intake will unclip right at the accordian area. the pvc tube, 3 x 3 rubber gourment and clamp total roughly $9.00.

This has worked for me,and without a programmer.Have also asked 2 ford techs, and 6 auto shops, and all have came back with the same answer and also will not do any harm to an engine.Justice brothers fuel injector cleaner about every 8th time i fill up.now this is what i do for mine.I also have biggers injectors, bigger fual pump and bigger fual rail, and aftermarket brisk raceing plugs. All this was cheaper than a tuner and has worked for me.My buddy has the 4.6 and put in those e-3 spark plugs and cold ait intake, and no lag on his
