2WD rotors (yikes)
Hi all-
Been thinking about replacing my front rotors on my 2WD XLT. Everyone knows this is a terrible thing since it is all one piece, and you can't just pull 'em off and throw any old brand on there. Pretty much has to be labeled "OE Replacement".
Anyone done this before?
I'm looking at these rotors, will they work?

I've heard I may need some kind of pin or something from the factory. If anyone can walk me through it real quick that would be great. I'm not a noob, I've changed pads and rotors on other (more simple) cars before. Just want some insider info on this particular sticky situation.
Thanks!
Wade

Went to autozone and got quotes on some rotors. They had some standards that were 85 a piece and some heavy duty ones that were 180 a piece. Not really sure if it's worth paying double for the good ones.
Also, not sure how much the dealer charges for the motorcraft ones..

Quality rotors are worth every penny. The autozone house brand are garbage (IMHO). NAPA gold, Raybestos, will serve you much better in the long run. I object to getting 20K out of a set of rotors, which is what I got out of the last autozone house brand rotors I used.
As stated above, make sure you replace the nuts, don't reuse them, and torque to the proper spec.

I work at napa and just look ours up. At my store they are $124 each for the premium and $209 for the ultra premium. The spindle nuts do need to be replaced and they run $18 each. Most NAPAs are individully owned so there might be a little difference in price depending on your local NAPA.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE A PRODUCT CALLED NEVER SEEZ ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR BRAKES!!! I had my brakes done with new rotors and all by a friend who used never seez (not sure on that spelling) About 2 months later, I could smell something hot and there was alot of smoke coming from the left front wheel well. took it to the dealer. Neverseez was the problem. My bargain $800.00 brake job cost me another $1500.00. to clean up and machine my new rotors.
