My 2004 XLT, 4.6L, 3:55 open dif Super Cab 4X4 with heavy duty tow package has 10 row trans cooler. Radiator is 2.75"thick - cannot see how many rows there are without removing the upper cover.
Highest trans temp I have ever seen on the Evo was 166*. Normally runs 150 +/- 5*.
Engine temp is always 195 +/- 5*.
I tow a 22' boat that is approximately 5,500 lbs.
Just easy and cool.

Interesting. I guess there are different "levels" of tow packages then. My 2007 4.6 has the tow package (appears on the window sticker and VIN lookup). It came with the 3:55 rear gearing, and its smaller 4 row transmission cooler that's getting the boot for the larger 10 row cooler.

The metal lisle tool arrives today to allow be to disconnect the transmission lines to it (trans cooler). I'll pst results of the temps the next time I pull the camper.
