I just moved to college this semester and had all of the tools that I had aquired over the last few years stolen out of my toolbox, which isn't much to another person but for a broke college kid it sucks :/

Over 20 years ago I left my truck when the water pump failed... Came back the next day to find my tools stolen from the cab. That was in a small town! I was dirt poor and it was not fun getting parts & tools and getting my means of livelyhood running again.

People can hate on me now- thieves should be shot on sight. I don't care what anybody says.

I'm glad I live in the middle of nowhere as far as my area goes. I always try to lock my tailgate and keep anything of value out of sight in the cab.
I kept an extra battery in my old truck with no cover and never had it stolen, it was a small medical battery not a car battery though.
But every once in a while someone would put trash in my bed, including beer cans once. That coulda gone bad for a 17 year old.

Well luckily my insurance covered all the damage to the truck but non of my personal belongings. But they did give a nice big check today that will cover everything plus some! What drives me nuts is I was parked in one of 3 main parking lots surrounding Energy Solutions Arena (Utah Jazz) which cost $10 every game! My dad has season tickets so I end up going to at least 20-25 games a year and I've been using this parking lot every game for the past 3 years and have never had any problems. I turned down tickets to the Spurs game last night cause I didn't want to take a chance of getting my brand new window and receiver busted/stolen! haha

Damn that's terrible. Did you have a lock on the box? Reason I ask is because I'm in college as well, and I'd prefer if that doesn't happen to me haha
