I will jump into this conversation. I had my truck window smashed and my PDA/GPS stolen from my truck. Three other vehicles were broken into as well. One person had her ID and badge (she was a prison guard) stolen along with other items. I had information about all the issues that my wife went through during our miscarriage that turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy. Mad did not come close to my feelings. Not only did I feel violated because of them breaking into my truck, but for what they had as well. If I would have seen them breaking into my truck, I would have beat them to a pulp! The people that do this have NO concern for you. They just want your stuff. If they are willing to go through the effort of breaking the law in robbing you, what makes you think at any point that they would not further break the law and kill you?

It is my property, and I will defend it. Just as I will defend my family. I do not know their mind, I don't know where they might stop in their law breaking, but I know what I will do to stop them. For those that think "ah, it is just stuff, is it worth taking their life over?" I will answer this. Yes. Once a person wants to start violating you, they will not care to kill you either. People are killed over shoes, doughnuts, $5, etc.

The worst part about my experience, it was at the university that I was going to, and they had started having a rash of vehicle break ins and they said NOTHING to anyone about it. I was TICKED at them! The cop that showed up said that the possibility of recovering anything that was stolen was slim to none. And none it was.
