Quite the strawman you guys have crafted

From a guy coming out of a store and noticing his hubcaps were missing, to someone breaking into your house and robbing you, leaving you no option but to kill them like some action movie star. I bet you guys even fantasize about this stuff

I've had my Truck broken into once the worthless MOTHER****ER destroyed my drivers side door then busted up my dash to get the head unit and amp. Cost me a few days off work. Now today I come outside at a hotel parking lot and find my lock was tried again this time it was not broken into just damaged. Maybe you don't put a bullet in them but removing a hand might make them think twice before they help themselves from something THEY DID NOT WORK TO PAY FOR. And yes I would not think twice about removing the hand myself.

Old thread. Sorry you got marked up. It really pisses me off. It's happened to me too. But taking a hand? How about just beat the **** out of him? Wouldn't that be enough? No broken bones or severed limbs. Just a good old fashioned lickin.

sounds like you guys should definitely move. But if i ever catch someone jacking my stuff i'm grabbing the closest thing around me and beating the ever loving **** out of them. Then when the cops/ambulance get there if they are still breathing while i sit on them they can take em away for attempted grand theft, and destruction of private property.

And broken bones are justified for a theif lol. I show no remorse for someone who does things like that. Someone broke into my aunts ranger and stole all her stuff while she was in the store. They stole her identity and all that goody goody life paperwork that was on the seat because she had to go to a job interview, So yea if you find them beat them till they dont move, because they wont care what they do to you to get away.

PS another funny story, a bigger guy i used to work with was in line at the shell station, and someone yanked his wallet and tried to take off. He grabbed them and slammed them face first into the door handle as hard as he could. Then sat on him till the police arrived. Dude had a chunk of his face missing bleeding everywhere lol

Well I know laws vary from state to state but here in Texas, you are legally entitled to lethal force, to prevent theft from you or even from another individual. However would you get away in court with shooting someone over hubcaps? eh probably not without OJ's attorney who is now dead (kardashian girl's dad). I definitely feel everyone's pain from theft. As soon as I moved to school (from a little town of 1500 with hardly any crime) someone stole all of my tools out of my unlocked toolbox. I guarantee if I saw that peckerhead reaching in my toolbox he would regret it.

We all become the "Dirty Harry" individual when something of ours is stolen. I agree that nothing in this world will tick me off more than to see some theif grabbing my prperty and getting away with it. The real problem is that in most local law/courts, these theives have rights (stinks, I know). They can sue you for accessive force if you were to harm them in any bodily way. A long time ago, the gun club I belonged to had a local sherrif come to one of our meetings to answer questions. One that came up pertained to what type of action am I allowed to do if I catch a theif; it basically came down to this; you, by law, are not allowed to use bodily force against the theif unless he/she is threatening your life. So one person jumped up and stated that if a theif broke into his house, he would shoot him, then place a knife into his hands and say he was being threatened. The sheriff smiled. That was a long time ago; perhaps the laws have changed.

Would I go this far over a set of hubcaps? I hope not, but I would do all I could to hold the thug down until the police arrived.

And I do feel the pain of the OP that lost his. What type are they? I have a set of 4 that you can have, if they are the same type as the ones you lost.

Actually you would be justified in using deadly force. Ch. 8 of the penal code basically says that if you believe lethal force is the only option to recover your stolen property then it is a justified use of deadly force. There was actually a precedent set in dallas years ago where a taco truck driver had his tip jar stolen. He recovered it after putting a couple .357 slugs in the thief...Not sayings its right or wrong but its the law
