Default Is there a way to have sat radio and mp3 on factory HU

I have a factory HU, and have sirius sat radio, but mine didn't come with mp3 adaptor on dash tray. Does anyone know how to obtain a mp3 hook up that will work with my set up? I cant find how the trucks with the mp3 plug in the dash tray worked along with the sat radio. I assume there has to be a wiring harness that plugs into the harness in the radio right??

That won't work... looks like that is for adding it to the factory unit. I think rocket has OEM Sirius. At least that was my understanding based on what we talked about in PMs.

Hi,

O.K., this is all info I 'heard" when I wanted to set up my aftermarket Sat. radio....... I'm expecting someone will say I'm fulla crap..............

does your radio/cd player have an "AUX" button on the face? If so.....

most Ford high end audio ( like the 6 disc) have an Aux. input in the back of the actual radio. it may need a special plug to wire something into it....

but it may be that the factory sta. radio already occupies that.......

For my purposes in setting up my Sirrius Sa. radio, I ended up buying an adapter that plugged into the antena line. as popular as Ipod or mp3 players are, maybe radio shack or best buy has something that works like my Sat. radio adapter does.

Maybe a local car audio shop will have an answer for you...............

If what the OP told me is correct, that won't really help. His Sirius already goes through that. AFAIK, without upgrading the head unit to either an aftermarket or a different OEM one, I think he might be SOL.

Right. If you have factory satalite radio you are mostly SOL for anything that uses a similar interface to the PIE adapter without replacing the sat radio.

I won't say that it can't be done but most products I have seen on the market are only for adding an aux-in where there isn't anything hooked up to it.
