Question Is there a gasket between exh. mani and cat?

Hi all. I'm about to replace one of my cats and am wondering if I need a gasket in between the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter flanges.

I've never replaced a cat before. All the diagrams I have seen do not show a gasket, and it would have to be a hell of a gasket to sustain those temps but I just don't want to pull the thing to find out there is one that I need. Thanks.
