Is there a correct way to straight pipe an F150?
so the question was is there a correct way to straight pipe an f150. I am talking about the 04-08 3 valve 5.4. I know they are touchy with this. mostly when you do true dual with out an x or H pipe to get the right exhaust scavenging. I am 18 in a redneck college in north Dakota where everyone has there trucks as loud as possible. so I figured I want to be young and dumb for a while too. so please no negative comments about how dumb it is to straight pipe your vehicles.
from the research I have done I see this set up working the best:
delete all 4 cats with a dumby o2 sensor, an x pipe where both banks come together and dual it out the back. using wither 2.25 or 2.5 inch tubing.
I think putting a dynomax bullet on each pipe it will make it sound the best.
has anybody ever done this? or any comments on this set up.

I had a 2006 5.4L and did this. If you want it to sound good and loud as hell but not like sh*t, do exactly this: True dual straights from the cats back (dont cut any of them off), dont put the dynomax bullets on either. As far as tips go, put 5 inch tips going out at a 45 degree angle.
Got compliments ALL the time (even from old guys). If you are wondering just how loud it is, i set off many a car alarms in parking lots when i cranked it. I loved it cause it had a nice little rumble when sitting at stop lights and idling but as soon as i hit the gas, it roared and scared the crap out of other drivers.

I don't know what's on my truck, but don't do it. It get's QUIETER when you gun it. Not sure how that's possible, but I really don't recommend it, whatever it is. I think it's a magnaflow cat-back.

Afraid to break to news to you man but with that magnaflow, your truck isn't straight piped. In order to be straight piped it cant have any kind of muffler or bought exhaust system. Straight pipes are custom jobs done by a muffler shop

I just had duals put on my 05 5.4. My truck only had two cats on it with the last two O2 sensors in the cat itself, so they did true duals from the cats back with no H or Y or X pipes. I had 18" glass packs installed and had the pipes go straight out the back...sounds awesome!!
