Default Are there colored or marked links on factory engine timing chains

I have the timing cover off, guides on passenger side bad . Going to replace all timing parts and oil pump with a mellon m360 . Don't have valve covers off yet . Searching for marked links ,can't find any .
Have new cam phasors , tensioners, guides etc. Going to lift cams and replace all lash adjusters . Would like to set up engine alignment marks first , I need to see if It jumped time due to guide pieces .
Chain started to eat into timing cover but not thru it . 2005 5.4 l 3v engine .
I am changing out crankshaft damper bolt only 9.60 from dealer . They say the threads stretch and not to reuse the old one . Washer reusable .
I have the timing tool for the crankshaft so once I get to see no.1 cam lobes I can tell if its near time .
Are there marks on orig chains ? I also don't know how to prime this new oil pump . Found plastic pieces lodged in oil pump screen twice now . I first checked pan to see if I had problem before tearing into timing cover .Always used snyth oil now at 160k . very little sludge .Ground up plastic parts not good for engine . Can't see phasors yet but suspect bad , changed out vcts a year ago .
These valve covers are a challenge .
Was running poorly then dropped oil pan after engine flush . Then restarted and then it thru cam phasor codes etc .
