I don't use discs with face "features" since they accelerate pad wear, increase NVH and provide stress points for cracking. Slots help bite and combat pad glazing on race cars, but they cause more issues than solve on a street car/truck. Sure, they look cool....but I'm a function over form kinda guy when it comes to the brake system.

Ceramic is not a great friction material. Yes the dust is light, but good brake pads dust. Learn to wash your wheels. I'd prefer to be able to stop truck+trailer from 70mph on a down grade over concerns about brake dust on my wheels. But that's just me.

Lastly, don't skimp on brake fluid and make sure you flush it every couple years (at most).
Anyone ever tell you, that you kind of come off like a *****?

Yeh, but usually its intentional.

Didnt mean to offend anyone, just trying to offer my advice (and increase my post count). *edit* Sometimes its hard to turn off my *know-it-all* tone when posting about brakes. They (specifically racing brake systems) have been my livelihood for well over a decade. My post was simply to share my experience/expertise with how to get the most out of your brakes for the least $$. Decent iron, good fluid and the best pads you can afford. YMMV.

My Akebono ceramic pads stop the truck very well AND don't dust.

To be fair, the Akebonos were the best of the ceramics I've tried over the years.

And its ok, I think I've "come off like a *****" most of my life. The only good thing about getting older is now IDGAF what others (outside my wife and kids) think about me.

Now, where is that oil thread?

How do you like these bakes so far? I need to do mine and was thinking about going this route.

Default Ceramic for me to

Too much constant dust with others .
Watch out for sticking brakes after a brake job . Composite pistons swell with moisture after they are stuck out so far then you push them back in during brake job then they stick heating up your wheel enough to fry bacon and your front wheel bearings . I had to replace both front calipers with rebuilds and then bearings as they were seeping grease .

https://rotorwork.com/

i use the ARROW DYNAMIC SLOT - Premium Rotor Black Powder Coated on my truck. stock pads. i have used their rotors since 2008 without a single issue. on my ford trucks, acura, and several honda's. my first pads on the truck lasted 22k miles. i installed these rotors and new pads at the dealer. 20k miles later and they are barely worn. on my wife's acura, i am on my second set of rotors in 180k miles. i use ceramic pads on it, so change the rotors with the pads. first set lasted from about 55k to 140k. highley recommend calling as it is a father & son who own and run it. great customer service. web site isn't great though.
