Default tapping factory thermostat housing

Anyone that has had the thermostat housing off, ive heard there is a thicker spot in it that can safely be drilled and tapped for a temp sensor. Any input on this? Anyone done it?? Thank you

I bought the inline adapter. I saw another thread where someone taped it but he said it was very thin.

The inline adaptor is the much safer approach.

Yes i know i know haha, i already made one actually from aluminum. I was just hoping for a more stealth option. I was hoping to find a threaded port in the head somewhere but cant see anything nor find any info. Ive been really busy and procrastinating the install, with our rainstorm in san diego yesterday, i had some free time in the garagegarage towards the end of the day and was going to start wiring, then couldnt get motivated to cut the hose and dump antifreez on my garage floor haha. Then went inside and started thinking about another option . ill probably end up just getting it done this weekend with the coupler i made.
