I got the Sylvania Silverstar 9145's for the foglights. The stock lights are 9140's but I've read on other threads that they dont make the Silverstars in 9140's and the 5 watt difference is not a big deal at all when changing out these lights, so go with the 9145's

just wondering how did you change your light bulbs without taking out the headlight unit itself? thanks!

i don't have any stock bumper so i can simply reach under the light and twist. Its a tight fit but it defentaly do-able.

The silverstar is a direct replacement for the stock bulbs but they are brighter.

This is the very first thing I did when I got my truck. I use the silverstar bulbs in my Nissan as well.

I have learned a few things about them. you should expect them to last about a year or so, second when one burns out the other will burn out with in a week or so.

I still have my factory bulbs for when the silverstar goes out I will replace them with the factory and order a norther set of the silverstar.

For the price you get them on ebay and other on line places it is worth it but I do not see paying the $50 for them at the local auto parts store.

yep, i bought a set the day i brought my truck home from the dealer, and 366 days later, the receipt was in the package, 1 burned out. i have been using the eurodezigns ever since and they come with a lifetime warranty, send in the bad bulb plus 7 bucks and they send you a new set, i have had them over a year in both my heads and fogs with no issues. and best part is, i got both sets off ebay for 30 bucks shipped, can't be that with a stick

I am thinking I have the same set you do, I didn't care for them as much as the silverstar.
I still have them sitting in a box with the rest of my F150 parts.

They have a blue tint to them?

they are way brighter than silverstars, a slight slight hint of blue, barely noticable

the ones I had in my truck for the few weeks wher enot as bright, even my 70 year old mom could see the diffrance. she made commit about how dark they looked. I then changed them out with out saying anything to her and the next time she was with me at night she said they headlights are brighter what did you do to them.

Could be I just got a bad set. NOw the high beams did seam better then teh silverstar but not the low beams.
