Default Sway bar end links

I have an 04 5.4, 2x4...my question is:
Is there a difference In length between the sway bar end links on a 4x4 and a 2x4? I am leveled(2.5") and am wondering if longer end links would be helpful in keeping the sway bar from slapping the transmission when I go over speed bumps or hit potholes.

There shouldn't be any possible way for your sway bar to slap your tranny unless it's not even bolted to the frame properly. Are your bushings in good condition? The sway bar end links wouldn't fix this at all.

It only happens when the suspension is fully extended. I haven't done any serious recon yet. Just a thought.

Take some pictures, that should help get an idea of what's going on.

yes it can happen. the sway bar have a bend and it's to the other side of the pivot point.

So if you lower the link side, the bent side lift toward the engine/transmission.

if it's not hitting the transmission, it would be the belhousing or engine.

yes longer link will put it back level to where it was before your lift.
not sure if the 4x4 one are longer or not, but I assume yes.

I just did a quick measurement. The end links on my FX4 are right at 6-1/4 inches from top of the lower control arm (so this will not include threads through and under the control arm) to the centre of the upper bolt.

So overall they will be longer but maybe this will help!? It's the only good measurement I could get because they are installed and I didn't want to get a "good" shirt dirty...lol

Gotcha, forgot it had that bend in it. Yeah maybe some longer links would work. Idk where you would get them however. I've had a 3" leveling kit for over 4 years and never had this problem.

i got it a lot with the 3" and now not so much with the 2.5". I thought maybe 4x4 would be a little longer because the 4x4s sit a little higher than the 2x4s. I guess I'll just try and hash it out with the guys at O'rielly.
