Supercharging 06 5.4 3v
Im about to get my hands on a supercharger off an 07 gt500 for next to nothing and was wanting to know what all I would need to do to install this. Will the intake manifold off the gt500 fit or does someone make just the manifold to fit this truck. I figure I will need to work on the fuel system to supply it but and more than likely a transmission rebuild later down the road. Also from looking at the supercharger it looks like it has vacuum line to it is there a way to bypass it or can I run a vacuum line from somewhere else to keep it stockish? Other than that is it worth it to supercharge it? Im not planning on running a lot of boost or should I just turn around and sell the supercharger I was told it has been ported but i don't know how much i believe that.

You do realize that the 5.4 in our trucks are 3V engines and the GT500's are 4v's right? Also that no specific manifold exists without modification to do what you what to do. Your best bet would be to contact Department of Boost and see if they offer something. I assume you are trying to supercharge it on the cheap however Supercharging and Cheap do not bode well with each other. You have to pay to play.

If I recall, there are threads on this topic. I believe that there was an intake adapter available, but there is also an issue with the throttle bodies, as our trucks have the drive-by-wire setup.

i am aware of the cost involved of supercharging anything i was mainly looking to see if there was an adapter or a specific intake manifold available that wasn't part of a kit

There is nothing that I know that works or works well enough that makes adapting another setup to these trucks worth it. In the long run the headache and cost to get supercharged not using a kit is far more costly then it is to just get a whipple kit and be done with it.
