I recommend the Whipple/Ford Motorsports kit. $4920 and you have everything you need. 8psi, intercooled, plenty of power 394rwhp and 434ft/lb tq and no waiting for the roots blower to come around. Full boost instantly, gotta love twin screw blowers. I have considerably more power cause I went with a custom tune and upgraded my injectors. Plenty of guys on another f150 forum are running 10 and 12psi kits on stock motors with no problem. Just make sure the tuning is done right if you go this high. Whipple is now offering tuning for the 10psi kit. I know of one gentlmen whose been running 12psi for 4 years now. Also before your friend invest in headers, tranny upgrades, or any other goodies, tell him to install a wideband air/fuel meter. $300 but it can save you a fortune in engine work. Heres a link if you want to know more.

Whipple is the hands down best kit on the market. If you want everything you need in one package, get the whipple. The roush is nice, but it's a roots style blower. I'd much rather have the efficiency of a twin screw. Nobody buys superchargers more than mustang owners, and if you visit the mustang forums on the web, you'll find that whipples and kenne bells are far and away the best selling kits. Both twin screws.

Default Question

Isn't Kenne bell and Whipple blowers "roots style" also??

Either way...for the money I paid, I"m very satisfied with the result I got. All depends on the result you want personally and the price you are willing to pay I guess.

No. They are twin screws. Twin screws run much more efficiently.

No. Refer back to the links I posted. These will explain more. The link to KB a particularly good read. http://www.kennebell.net/techinfo/ge...romcatalog.pdf
