Drove it today and was pretty solid. I haven't had a chance to take it in for a second opinion on whether or not it's still detonating. Could just be standard engine noise but I'm not 100% sure. I'll let you know. Hi flow cats will be on tomorrow. Not sure it will improve things but wanting to get it done regardless.

Hey do you have tow hooks on your rig? I ordered replacements and the ones I have done seem to fit inside the frame rail like I thought they would. I'm trying to figure out if they actually slide inside the frame tubing or if they are installed on the outside of them. I ordered some, same part number that ford dealership said matched my VIN and I think thy are wrong.
They bolt to the frame.. Look up inside the tow hook opening on the air dam, and you should see the 2 bolt holes at the frame horn.

You probably won't notice much of an improvement from the cats, but the sound might be a bit more robust..

I'd be stoked if it improves the sound quality any. I'm just worried about that rattling cat and have this itch to get it done.

Got the tow hooks put on. I just didn't think they bolted to the bottom of the frame for some reason I was thinking they actually slid into the frame tube but now that I have them on it looks right.

I went with a 9000 lumens led bar in the hidden front bumper and am really happy with it. Rigid wanted around 800 I think for theirs and rough country had one very similar for under $300. I'd recommend it to anyone. Not only does it look really good the lighting is really impressive.

Especial86, I'm thinking I'm gonna do the gears. Will I need a retune for the new gears? Do you think the gains will be significant with different gears?

Perhaps a great ending to this very costly project. Learned a lot though.

Finally got new gears. The 4.56 are way better. Much snappier and better overall performance. Should have done it a while ago.

The ping is gone. No trace of it after the gear swap, from what I can tell it's gone!

Doing high flow cats tomorrow instead of a cat delete. Didn't want to spend the money on a retune right now but still want to get it dyno'd for optimal tunes.

A big thanks to Especial for all the help on this. Thanks to him I added a new intercooler/heat exchanger and lowered my IAT temps dramatically, among many other things. On a 65 degree day today I didn't exceed 85 degrees. Great call on swapping the existing roush out.

I was even able to mount a three light bar on top of the intercooler that didn't fit prior and has been siting in the garage for six months and now it fits perfect on top of the intercooler.

Stoked to be at this point with the truck.

Yes a great ending indeed!
That HE looks right at home in there.. It is a hell of a cooler. Good job on the clean install!
On a cooler night take it out for a good run, you will really feel the extra power that lower ACT's can provide..
