Supercharger @ 115K AM I CRAZY?
Been wanting to add a supercharger to my modified 06 Screw for 50,000 miles now and finally got what I thought was a great deal on a used Roush Intercooled SuperCharger. I need more power to move those 38" Tires down the road. I've done all the standard mods....K&N CAI, EDGE Programmer, True Dual Exhaust and recently changed plugs. I know its risky and I need to be careful with the extra power but anyone have any experience or thoughts on adding this supercharger to a truck with 115K? Any one with experience installing the Roush Intercooled Kit? Part number 401633.

Have you re-geared? From other threads I've read, it seems re-gearing would get those 38's rolling faster and you'd probably get a better seat-of-the-pants feel with your tuner. Otherwise I think you're just gonna break ****.

I worry about breaking ****** but specifics would be nice. What is at risk of being broke with forced induction?
I get what your saying about gears but how much of a difference can that make? I just don't think I'm going to be happy with any low end mod until a super charger is installed.

Putting a blower on that truck turning 38"s without gears will put ALOT of stress and load on the motor and tranny. I would highly suggest doing gears(4.88s) before a blower.
Extra load with the blower wouldn't allow for much timing in the tune due to the load and it would be more prone to detonation.
Trust me do it right first!
Once you get gears you will gain a lot of power back. And if your still want a blower do it then. Lifted on 38"s with a blower is fun as it can be. Sure do miss my old truck!

Next question. I'm fairly inclined (installed brake pads, plugs, all mods and going to do my super charger myself), what's involved with gear change? Any recommendations on where to get the 4.88s?
