supercharge a 4.6
Sup ppl,i have an 06 ford w/ a 4.6l v8, with a few goodies, intake, edge power proggramer, and magma flow muffler, i want more power,so has any body supercharged a 4.6L motor, and what would i need to do something like this? or would i just be better off with a few more upgrades, like pullies, long tube headers, some 4.10 gears and an e-fan?

I would get the 4.10 gears first, thats goin to be a lot quicker take off for you.. but if your still not happy with it then get the supercharger.. I'd love to supercharge my 5.4

i could be wrong, but i don't think they make a sc for the 4.6 (i've been looking!) only for the 5.4, but they do make turbos tho if that would be an option for ya.

The search button is your friend... This question comes up every few weeks it seems like... The basic answer is there is not kit produced for the truck 4.6, the intake is on the wrong side to use the Mustang SC kits... I have yet to see some one actually swap the 4.6 Mustang Sc onto a truck 4.6 (but I am sure someone has done it, just a little bit of custom work to getter done)...

thanks guys for all the help, but i've been reading up on my motor and it says that the 04 mustang has the same one, so i think a svt supercharger should work, but i think i would need to change some internals for it so i think ill look at a rear mounted turbo system first, before i commite to any thing...

Reread my post regarding the intake... Also do some more research on what engine is in a SVT Cobra... It is a 4v 4.6 and you do not have that stock in your truck...
Rear mounted turbo=not the best idea on a truck that may see any water...

well thanks for the info, but out here in west texas, thier is hardly any rain and i dont off-road or any thing like that. ive also heard of other ppl putting a splash plate on thier turbos... and reading the other post, its not even worth putting a super charger on,the money would be alot and the
hp/$ ratio is to far apart and it would just be better to buy a 5.4L...
