I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure torque spec is 28 not 25

according to this page:

the
Fel-Pro - Fuel Injector O-ring Set

Part # ES70599

is compatible with a lot of vehicles including the F150.... at $4 each... you may try that.
I think the 4 in a set fuel injector o-rings were the part that the dealer ordered for me. They were too small. I ended up ordering a new FPS from RockAuto. They have them on clearance sale for $35. Got tired of searching around. It better come with the o-ring!!

Damned good thread.

And it answers my question on a thread I started--I've got the same issue.

Interestingly, it started when I had the plugs replaced a couple of months ago.

Thanks to everyone posting the great details here--esp. the recall notice. I never got one.

FYI - The Dorman part that came cured my problem and has a better design than the OEM part. The o-ring is built-in to the Dorman part and sits higher in the fuel rail, leaving a lot less chance for error and fuel leaks!!

Default Loose Spark Plugs

When the problem first started out when there was a faint smell of gas in cab occassionally but now it has become much stronger and occurs every time the car is started. The fuems smell like raw, unburnt gasoline and the scent is coming through the air vents. My father took the car to our local dealership because a buddy of his works there and they had it for a week. No success. Everything I can think of was checked on the car, the torque of the plugs, the fuel lines, injectors, fuel rail etc. When you accelerate from a dead stop the car also has a gentle vibration until you reach about 10mph then it disappears. The fuel smell seems to dissapate as the car accelerates and is driven at highway speeds but returns at traffic lights. If this problem can't be corrected I think we are going to have to get rid of the car which is a last resort. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!
Thanks for getting this thread going. My 08 F150 was having the same issues, and getting worse. The truck began running rough at idle, but no check engine light. Gas smell in the cabin. Very frustrating. After reading these I decided to check my plugs that I had changed a couple months ago. Turns out 2 of them were so loose I could turn without the ratchet. One was about 1/4 loose! I had tightened those suckers up when I put the new plugs in too. Well, I checked them all today, tightened the loose ones and then drove all over town... no more gas smell. Simple fix, and no mechanic fees right before Christmas!
