Default Straights

I am looking to possibly put a straight exhaust on my '06 F150 but am concerned that it is just going to be annoying because its not a diesel. Any suggestions for a nice relatively cheap straight pipe that will produce a nice sound?

just a simple glasspack. No restrictions and can be had for about $40 at your local exhaust shop.

If the cats are still on - there will be some muffling there. Otherwise, the larger the diameter of the pipe, the deeper the sound. Guys that run straights with small pipes seem to have that machine-gun sound - more towards harsh than mellow.

Then, there are the local noise regulations and vehicle inspections to consider.
