If your going to be spending the money to get dual pipes why not spend the extra 80 bucks and get two bullets? and another thing. If you really want to improve exhaust sound. Just go with the high flows and a single bullet. High flows will cost you 100 bucks for both from PerformancePeddler.com and you can get a bullet from Summit for 40. Then you just have to find someone to tack it on for you. Sound will be phenominal. Although you wont have the performance of a true dual setup.

Here's what my truck sounds like now. With a SI/DO cherry bomb extreme.

He could buy any mufler he wanted for the price of two high flow cats.

??? $96 for both of them from PP I bought a set last week. The highflows alone will increase your loudness by a minimum of 30%

Just thank what removing them will do for the sound. The guy said he wants to keep the price low I'd say he doesn't want to spend almost 100 dollars for cats. That's all I was saying.

Mind you. With deleted cats if you have to take and emissions test. Without cats your will surely fail. And if you delete your cats. Your CEL will come on. If that doesn't bug you than go for it. Unless you have a gryphon in which case you can turn the CEL off.

I don't have cats and my CEL has never came on. But you don't have to pass emissions test in virginia.

I bought a cherrybomb glasspack for $30 and had it installed with new pipe for $100, but I think that was mostly labor charge. I'd go 3" from the Y all the way back, and exit it in front of the rear tire, then put a dual tip on the end.

What it comes down to down OP is how much money are you willing to spend?? Just deleting cats and mufflers and running straight pipes. Is about the dumbest thing i've heard of it's gonna be so loud you won't be able to hear yourself think. But it's your truck do with it what you want.

I don't want to remove cats, just muffler to see how it sounds, i want a louder truck, the way a V8 should sound, this trucks are really quiet, my dads CX9 sounds more when you turn it on.

Friends that goes into the truck for the first time ask if its running cause you can feel it or hear it. I think i'll just wait until i can do a good upgrade.

All I did was remove my muffler. Just undo the pipe clamps and unbolt the hangers and the entire muffler/tailpipe will come off as one. I have a 4.6 but they sound similar enough.
