Default Stock Radio with an AUX jack

Hello, Im looking to see if anyone has pulled out their stock F series radio that was equipped with a dash mounted auxiliary jack. In hopes you can answer my question. My radio has the "AUX" button on the face but no jack which I believe would have been mounted on the top of the dash in the tray (I have a 06 lxt with a 6 CD in-dash factory radio). is there anyway I can add an AUX jack to my radio? What is the differents between the two radios? Did Ford really manufacture two models of the 6 CD radio with the only difference being the lack of the AUX jack?

Question

Rplatt... Do you also have a jack for an I-Pod or something like that? I'm curious to know what is different on the back of the radio (as far as wires or other configurations) when there is a jack. Today I pulled out the radio and noticed an empty quick connect jack but I believe that is for the controls in the steering wheel option. Can anyone tell me how AUX jack is connected to the radio?

I'm not fully understanding your question. The iPOD does plug into the input jack at the top of the dash in that "tray". That IS your AUX input. However you can also plug in an aftermarket harness that will allow you to control your iPOD in different ways. I hope I've answered your question and I have changed out my factory radio to an aftermarket in-dash.

I think the plug was added in 07. I bought a peripheral Ipod2car connector for mine. You can find these a lot cheaper if you shop around.

I also purchased one of the periphereal adapters. They are all about 150 for something that is gonna work when you want it to. Also, it is capable of two aux inputs, and rca cables for an amp. I also retain functionality through my steering wheel.

I 3rd what thes guys said about the Peripheral iPOD adapter. I bought mine from Crutchfield for $150 before I changed out radios and I loved it. It's a great adapter and you won't be disappointed.

I have the AUX button on the radio but no jack. I wanted to know what was missing, if anything from the radio since I didnt have the "tray" jack.

Oh ok I see what you're saying now. If you're really wanting to get the iPOD adapter without upgrading your headunit I have to recommend getting the Peripheral adapter. It's a plug and play and the install took me all of 2 minutes. The hardest part was getting the surrounding radio off.

Default 3.5 mm input aux jack

Shadow,

I have the 3.5mm jack in the tray on my dash in the 2007 F150 XLT Super Crew Cab that I recently purchased. You should be able to get the Female 3.5mm to RCA male connector that will adapt into your existing wiring.
