is the stock muffler restrictive?

If you remove it and cut it in half, it will make two good horse trofts.

Its like the size of a 25 gallon barrel. Its huge,and very restrictive.

I'm not sure how restrictive it is. I'm sure that like most stock systems it is to some degree. I don't know if anyone who has backpressure numbers or flow data. However it is very large and very heavy.

Any suggestions on a great flowing aftermarket muffler that won't be too much louder than stock? Good deep tone is fine, screamin' demon loud is not.
