Changed plugs in my 04 F 150 Screw, 5.4 engine. I was hopin that would fix the rough idle, but no luck. Check engine light hasn't come back on yet, but I'm sure it will. Tried to pull the code, but the truck won't communicate with the scanner. Any suggestions?

Without a code i don't have a clue. Whens the last time the fuel filter was changed? You could try unhooking the battery for 10-20 minute's, it's worth a try atleast.

Disconnected the battery for couple hours. Still has a rouogh idle. Fuel filter changed 4500 miles back. Friend of mine thought there might be a fuse out causing the truck to not communicate with the scanner. Anyone ever come across that? If so, where would the fuse be?

The fuse for the OBD port is the same fuse as the cig lighter. If cig lighter no work OBD no work. I'm not sure of the fuse # though, sorry.

Cig lighter works......must be some other problem.

i had the alternater spicked then took a crap. when it did i caused the computer to screw up and the truck idled bad or would just die. took it in to a freind of a freinds shop, and he told me " he pluged it in and programed the computer to idel". if thats what it was it worked for me.
