Default Does your 08 f150 do this?

When I put air vent button on the setting that blows on the feet and defrost vents, then switch to the button that blows to the feet and and center vents, the AC kicks in. This happens every time. The ford tech says this in normal and is programmed to do this. He said its to kick in or lubicate the ac bearings/whatever.
I think it is a programming error.
Any experience of thoughts on this?

now that i think of it when i first got my f150 (2008) certain vent setting would make air come on.. but once i set vent setting to a certain setting and turned air off it hasnt done it since. Now air only comes on with defrost or if i turn it on.

Do you have the digital HVAC controls? The A/C is almost always running in mine, unless the setpoint is very high.

Default A/C comes on

It's normal. Anytime you go to any setting with defrost the A/C will cycle to dry the air. Going to the dash vents and floor will let you choose if you want the A/C or not.

Talking

it's simply a self-lubricating system. if it doesn't turn on, it doesn't lubricate.
