Looking to add some step bars or a set of side steps to my truck. Which is the more preferred look among everyone on here?

I am looking to do the same, maybe we can get some pro/cons or pics of peoples rigs to help us decide. As far as nerf bars, any opinions on the cab bolt mounts vs. the frame rail mounts. Any opinions on brands? I must say I am leaning towards bars but i don't like the loss of ground clearence, and views on this would definitely help me a lot.

IMO I prefer the 2 step bars vs the 4 single steps. looks nicer and cleaner and to me its worth the extra money for them.

im thinking the same now. just went down and look at the side steps that we have in stock and you have to drill holes in the cab to mount them. definitely not something that i want to do.

I like the look of the bars more. The bars look rugged and the steps look kind of flimsy (even if they're not).

I like the way the bars look. I'm kicking myself for not getting them on my truck, but not enough to spend the money on them right now.

This could just be me, but I like the electric drop down steps (running boards) by AMP research. They tuck away under the truck when not in use, you have a switch in the cab so you can turn them off when four wheeling, (so they dont hit anything).

I have them on my truck and the only complaint I have is if you live in a cold and wet climate (where it freezes) they can ocassionally stick till it gets warmer, However, the ice typically breaks when you open the door. Silverliftedford

still not a big fan of drilling into the cab to mount them. if it was the frame that would be different. i dont like the cab mounted systems.

now i did just find that bestop makes a powerstep that has no drilling required.

I recently removed my stock running boards. I like the looks of nerf bars.

If you live in areas like the Northeast, they salt the roads a lot during the winter - which can lead to rust with the nerf bars. Food for thought.
