Steering wheel won't center?
This is my first f150 and I just bought it a few weeks ago. 05 scab lariat 4x4 with 24k miles. I never had a vehicle with rack and pinion steering so I don't know if this is normal or not. when I make a turn if I let go of the wheel it will only return part of the way. About a 1/4 turn from center and then I manually have to center it again. All of my other trucks I have had in the past the wheel would always come back to the center. Is there any way to fix this or do I just have to live with it. Thanks

when you go through the corner and hit the apex floor the throttle and it should either go completely sideways or the sterring wheel should straighten. i dont know i think mine straightens out i will have to get back after i drive mine

U need to have the front end checked there have been issues with ball joints getting tight(frozen) causing the wheel not to return to center this for upper control arms and lower ball joints
good luck

After you get the front end checked for worn parts, which I doubt you have at 24K, unless there was an accident along the way, I'd get the front end aligned. Caster and toe adjustments have a lot to do with handling.

Although 24K is not a lot of miles its still an 05. Seems to me the truck hasnt seen much use and is very plausable something in the front end is seized/rusted. Must have been sitting awhile somewhere. Mine centers itself after almost every turn. Seeking a garage's opinion seems like a much better option than flooring it around a corner and praying for the best.. (LOL)

I bought the truck from a good friend of mine who bought it new in end of 05 as a leftover. So I know it has never been in an accident. He only took it to work 1 day a week. So it did sit a lot. May be the cause of why it has the problem.
