Default '04 Outer tie rod end

I have a question about installing outer tie rod ends. My truck is an '04 f-150 FX4 with a Fabtech 6" lift. My question is how the outer tie rod ends should be installed meaning from the top or bottom. I ask this question because I just bought this truck and am replacing the tie rod ends. When I took them out the joints went in from the top and my search on stock vehicles says install from the bottom. Can anyone enlighten me on how I should do this with the lift. It's a 6" lift in front 5" blocks in rear.

They go in from the bottom, nut on the top. The taper should not allow it to be installed from the top unless someone has used a grinder to allow it. Does not sound safe to me.

After a good nights sleep I realized about the taper. The Fabtech steering knuckle is tapered downward. therefore installing from the top.
