It is your tires. I have the Pirelli's as well and they are to quote my ford mechanic, junk. He said even the new ones on the lot do the same thing.

Default steering wheel shake

The steering wheel shake is a problem Ford cannot fix.My 02,04 and 05,all F150 xlt 4x4 supercabs had the same problem. All of the aforementioned trucks were sent to an outside balance tire place and all eventually were road-force balanced. The problem was there when I traded trucks.I should have pushed the lemon law on Ford. On my 05,I had BFG All terrians,265/70/17 put on at Sams club.I sold the piece of crap Generals for $150 with 18,000 miles on them. I have to keep the air pressure at 45# front and 48# rear. I rotate tires myself at 5000 mi. and the tires are wearing even. The shake is still there but not as bad. Next tires ,when I find a set of stock Ford rims at a reasonable price will be Michelins, their tire wear is rated at 720 and nobody else can match that. I still would rather drive a Ford and just live with the shake.

when you rotate your tires your self do you rebalance them or get them rebalanced anywhere??? that could be the source of your shake after the tires wear some they need to be rebalanced... i rotate my tires myself but i get them rebalanced at least every other rotation or 10,000 miles
