Default Steering Wheel Adjustment

I have a 2008 F-150 XLT SuperCrew Texas Edition. My wife was driving ( I know -that was the first mistake - LOL ) home from her work when she was rear-ended.

Took it to the body shop and they had it for 5 days. We picked it up on Friday and noticed that the steering wheel adjustment lever is now broken. When you pull it down to unlock it - it drops all the way down - and does unlock the column.

I know that it wasn't damaged in the accident because we drove it for over two weeks before the body shop could get it in to repair it.

My question is: Has anyone else had problems with theirs? I know that the body shop broke it and I will deal with them tomorrow, I was just trying to find out if this is more of a poor design issue or someone at the body shop just being too heavy handed.

So frustrating that I will lose my truck to the dealer for who knows how long to get this repaired. I hate paying for a truck that I can't enjoy.
