Steel timing chain tensioners

So I'm probably going with the cloyes timing set. Which I think does not come with the steel tensioners how much were those from ford?

I think they were $75 each? I actually first bought the aftermarket ones. they looked crappy to me. When I compared the machine work to the Fords it was like night and day. The fords were nice and smooth

I used iron tensioners made by melling. Bought them off of eBay. Part # bt-402 bt-403 I have them on my 05 f150. I would also suggest the livernois lockout kit while you're in there. I'm happy with my lockouts and iron tensioners.

I used iron tensioners made by melling. Bought them off of eBay. Part # bt-402 bt-403 I have them on my 05 f150. I would also suggest the livernois lockout kit while you're in there. I'm happy with my lockouts and iron tensioners.

do the melling tensioner require gaskets ? Or just metal to metal ?

Some guys put a little sealant on them . I think they are far superior to plastic ones --no seal to fail and ratchet holds during each start in the millisecond no oil pressure helping . Spring on plastic ones is not very strong .
