Default Stealership warrenty deductible?

The dealerships are charging deductables now? This is the first I've heard of this.

I have an 05 screw, when I 1st bought it 20k i had to fight to get the cam phasers done, it was sounding like a diesel. The only did 1 side..

Now at 35k was making a sweaking sound, the stealership changed tensioner idler and pulleys and belt, they claim there were flat spots, I should have requested to see the old parts...

I have the extended warrenty and they still charged $107, that dosent sound like any favors to me, and the warrenty was alot of extra money. They claimed it was for the deductible?

What do you guys think?

the dealership offers extended warrenties that are not ford warrenties they are subcontracted and yes they do get you with deductables I always refuse the warrities that dealers try to sell me just to pad their pockets I would rather go online and extend my warrenty on the manufactor site with no gimmicks

yeah, the extended warranty usually has a deductable i think. Had to have my transmission replace on my 05 (blew up the reverse clutch) the total bill was $1600, i paid like $120...I was upset, but beat the hell out of $1600...That extra few dollars a month on those payments was well worth it IMO.

my deductible is $100.00, I was told this is the normal amount, so I am assuming yours is $100 as well

so where did the extra few dollars come from that they are charging you?

Assuming that you are out of normal warrenty due to it being more than 36 months old, then you are on your extended warrenty, which you had to have purchased at some point. When you purchase a Ford extended warrenty you chose a number of things. These things include the length of the warrenty in months, the length of the warrenty in miles, the service level of the warrenty (i.e. Basic coverage through Premium coverage) and, lastly, the deductible level which, I believe, can range from a $50 deductible to a $250 deductible. Each choice affects the cost of the warrenty when you purchase it. It appears that you chose one with a deductible in excess of $100.

If the initial assumption was wrong and you are under 36,000 miles and under 36 months, then you should still be on the new car warrenty and no deductible should apply.
