Default Starting help

Hi all,

I recently replaced the motor in my 2007 f150 4.2l v6.

I stripped everything off of donor motor, replaced with everything usable from blown motor. Was throwing check engine code, forgot code but it was lean bank 2. Went off after about 30 miles of driving.

Also had battery light come on. Checked voltage on battery, with key off and on, and also checked voltage at alternator. I would get rapid discharging of battery while running Appeared I needed an alternator. I replaced with a reman from Advance, which was tested along with my original, both testing good. Replaced original due to a crack in the alternator case. Also remembered I didn't reattach the ground cable near the muffler, so I attached it.

Jump started the truck with reman alternator installed. I still have the battery light come on with rapid discharging of battery.

Help appreciated.

Well,I've checked and checked, and I'm going to take the reman back and go to the dealership and get a motorcraft at lunch tomorrow.

I will post an update tomorrow evening...

I'M THE CHAMPION!!!

Tested alternator again, tested lead coming into alternator, both were good.

Turns out I bolted the fusable links to the firewall instead of the battery.

Starts and runs without battery light. I'll find out in the morning if this was the right thing to do.

Man. You are a one man show. I'm actually glad you solved it on your own and kept us in the loop.
