Default squeaky steering.

So I thought it was the cold weather but it's like 45 out this morning and my steering is still making a squeaky sound. It squeaks when I am still. I can just slightly move my steering wheel back and forth and it squeaks. Any suggestions?

Grease the universal joint on the steering shaft. You can get to it through the drivers side wheel well

Ok will do. It almost sounds like it's coming from the tires though.

So today when I got up to the truck I stood on my nerf bars and jumped up and down on the driver side of the truck and it did the same squeak so does this mean it's my bushings ball bearings or tie rod ends or anything like that.

sounds very much like the same squeeking I had. I thought maybe shocks, rack and pinion, springs, maybe sway bar. It stopped making the sound when I replaced the sway bar end links. I don't think that's what it was, but I no longer hear the squeeking.

well that narrows it down. Sway bar end links? Sway bar bushings? Tie rods (outer/inner)? I could stand in the door, jump and rock the truck to make it squeek. It also squeeked if I just turned the steering wheel back and forth. Good luck. I'd definitely like to know what you find.

Johnny or Dolphinsfan - what was the issue? I have the same symptoms and the wife is talking about selling my truck! I can't figure it out.

I had this issue and for me it was as simple as spraying liquid silicone on my sway bar bushings.

Like summers said, try some spray on your sway bar bushings. Maybe he'll point you in the right direction to pick some up.
