I ordered the camera from the same vendor. It was the one that mounts to the license plate frame. Because the camera housing and mounting area was black, I went out and purchased a black license plate frame that way it all kind of blended in.

ckreidler,

How is the sound quality of the bluetooth for the phone? Can people on the other side understand you pretty well?? I believe this unit has a separate microphone which should help.

I am really torn on this one. If it was a bit cheaper I would have no problem with it but at its' price point for just a little bit more I could get a 'name brand'. But then again after seeing some of the 'name brands' that may not necessarily matter. These radios used to be listed on ebay but I see now they aren't anymore.

The bluetooth phone quality is excellent! The quality is as good as my wife's 2013 Ford Escape and her's is all factory. I have even had the opportunity to talk to her when we were in separate cars. Car to Car so to speak with both phones connected with bluetooth and the quality was there. Of course the quality of the phone itself plays into that, you can't expect the radio to bale out a crappy phone. I ran the microphone line from the radio under the dash and then up the door frame to right before the last bend before the top of the door frame, tucking the wire in under the molding. I can't think if I have ever talked on the phone with the window open so I don't know if the quality would be hindered by the wind with the microphone located here.

Thanks for all the input!! Like I said I've been eyeing this radio for some time now but reviews are really lacking. There are a couple on Amazon ( it's for sale on there too) but those aren't real great. You are the first 'real world' person I've been able to talk to who had one. Sorry to keep asking you so many questions. My last experience with a 'Chinese double din' wasn't exactly stellar.

ckreidler,

I found your topic on a Google search looking for info on the Square-S GPS receiver. The one thing I like about this receiver is the OEM look. I have found a couple other receivers but none offer for a late model Super Duty or were for Chevy and Toyotas. The two receivers I am looking at now are pretty much the Square S and the Ford OEM which runs about $1700 with the "Brick" you need to install.

The one thing that makes me hesitant about the Square-S receiver is a lack of info from private owners and one big thing I most want out of this unit. I have not seen a single photo of the Square-S showing it set on navigation. Does the navigation look like most GPS receivers and how do you like it so far?

Thanks

The navigation works real well. They do pronounce the street names in a humorous way some times... voices can't be perfect when done electronically. The other thing is you lose the the voice turn by turn if you are listing to music from you phone via bluetooth. But if you plug you phone in to the cable from the radio then you get the voice turn by turn back. I can take or leave listening to directions, there is so much information on the nav screen that I don't real listen to the voice part but on long trips i generally plug the phone in so I don't run the battery down listing to music so the voice is there for the nav anyway.

Long Carbine,

FWIW, I don't have the square s head unit this thread is about although I am considering it. I do have an EONON double din that has been a piece of junk. With that being said I did like the IGO navigation software. I switched out to it over the Sygic GPS software that came with the unit. The navigation software is changeable and available on an SD card on ebay. I actually had the IGO software perform better than my Garmin on a trip last year to Atlanta. Previously when I talked to Square S they advised I could order it with whatever software I prefered.
