Speedo off
I just got my leveling kit and 35 Toyo Open Country M/Ts installed (pics soon), and my speedo is off. It says I'm going 5 mph less then what I really am (according to my GPS) How do I go about fixin this?

in newer trucks i think you have to have your computer reprogramed.
i know with my explorer i have to have it reprogramed when i get my 33's on. and so far the only place around me that i've been able to find that can do it is the "stealership"

You can get a full blown tuner for around $400, or i do believe the sell a tire calibration or something like that much cheaper...Or im sure the dealer could do it for a pretty penny.

i called the dealership the 1st time my check engine light came on - they wanted 120$ to diagnose and clear the trouble code. I bought the edge evo shortly thereafter and cleared it myself - loose gas cap...
its happened twice and ive upgraded to 35 inch tires. this means i would have had to pay 120 + 120 + 90 = 330$ to the dealership. That pretty much covers the cost of the EVO already... Im a big suppoerter of the programmers - great investment!
Not to mention all the great info they give you on your vehicle - preventative maintenance right? Set your alerts on the evo conservatively and pull your rig over before somethingreally goes wrong... set or remove speed limiters, rev limiters, adjust shift points and firmness...

i was gonna have the dealer do it also, they told me it was like 75 bucks or so, but they said it would be accurate within 5 percent, i was like that's a big window of error, too much of an error for me...get a tuner, get an exact diameter with a chalk test and it will be 99.9 accurate
