Speaker Dimensions and Opinions?
I am putting a new head unit it this week, which has made me think of doing new door speakers. I'm thinking of doing Alpines. But if you guys have better ideas I'm open to them. What are the dimensions for the door speakers??

I like to use Crutchfield.com; they supply the connectors needed and instructions if you need them. Do you have an amp to wire the speakers to? If not, I wouldn't get too crazy with the speakers as they won't reach their full potential without one. Anything will be better than stock speakers though.

The jbls listed would be good for the front stage. Being the factory panels have the tweeter slot. I personally was looking at getting these (all 4) http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R860...4955545&awdv=m
There independence allows them to be powered well with head unit but also can upgrade to an amp later on. If you don't want to run an amp, you could also get the alpine power pack.

Do you have a factory sub in your truck? If not 3 or 4 way Pioneers may sound better if you aren't planning to add an amp.

Off head unit power I would suggest the infinity reference series. They are designed for head unit power but allow addition of an amp.

I put Pioneers in my 02 Exploder and they sound great. Some speakers are designed for higher inputs from an amp, and won't sound nearly as good without one. You gotta get the right ones.

I was actually looking to go that route with mine. I already have a factory sub in mine. The Alpines just seem to have a cleaner sound to me. But sound better when coupled with a sub.
