Default Speaker Box under seat

I am a new F-150 owner, first time owning a truck. I can't believe I have waited this long...and I am almost 40.

I love this forum, I have learned a TON...thanks for all of you posting cool stuff.

I have an 2007 F-150 Lariat.

I wondering about the speaker box under the seat in the back.

I assume it's ok to take that thing out? What have you all done with it?

IF wanted real subwoofers back there, they sell em. In single and dual 10's and 12's. Dual 12" subs requires a seat lift kit to fit. Which cost as much as the box. The rest do not.

All you need is a good 10" in a box and a 400w amp. That's plenty for good sound and it has enough punch to satisfy pretty much anyone. No need for two 10" or 12".

I have been wanting what I thought was a factory sub because I thought it was behind the seat. I put stuff under the seats. Now knowing that they are under the seat, makes me glad I don't have one. I am gonna have to find one that will fit behind the seat I guess.

Did you just hook up your new stuff to the existing wiring?
