Not familiar with the V6. Does it use the COP's like the V8's?

Is there a pronounced tick? That code is for cylinder #4, for your engine that is driver side plug closest to the front of the engine. Check to make sure it hasnt backed out. Also, since it started the behavior with the snow (moisture) check your FPDM on the axle. My guess is the plug backed out or the plug wire is loose. Moisture may have gotten in the plug wire or ignition coil pack.

BTW, his truck does not have COP's like the 4.6 or 5.4, it has a "ignition coil pack", those are known to crack and allow moisture to wreak havoc.

Yep, check the coil pack. I had a 4.2 in a 2005 (great engine), and in changing the plugs and wires during it's 100K "tune up", I found that the coil pack had a good sized crack in it. While the truck was running fine, I replaced it anyhow, as I figured it could not be long before moisture got into this crack, and left me stranded somewhere I did not want to be.
