Lhern;
4.6 heads are different. Different engine. No spark plug issues.

Nope you only have the problem of the whole spark plug blowing out of the head, but for as late as your year I believe they corrected the problem by adding more threads to the plugs and heads. Also look at your VIN or I believe most engines have a barcode with some significant numbers on one of the valve covers, but it might be covered up from dust and debris. This will tell you the build date for your engine.

Spark plug blowout problems were prior to 04.

Look in the 97-03 sub-topic it will have more than enough information for the problem trust me. Basically Ford designed these engines during those years to where the Spark Plugs didn't have very many threads and didn't seat themselves very well. This lead to the spark plug eventually becoming loose, and with enough compression from the cylinder it would literally blow out the entire spark plug from its hole.

Which is what I also believed, but I was unsure. What problems do the 04-08 4.6 2V have? Everyone on here only seems to ever discuss the 5.4 and not so much the 4.6.
