Default Spark plugs

In using the search on my oil viscosity question, I cam across a thread about spark plugs breaking due to carbon fouling on the thread tips. Geez!

I had purchased some new plugs to install on my 4.2, but Now I'm having some concerns; I don't want to have one (or more) of these bust off into the head.

The plugs I was given by my NAPA guy in no way look like the photos I saw in the search. I assume I bought what the article refered to as "one piece" plugs.

Are all Ford engines between early 2004 to 2007 affected by these plugs?

The 4.2s don't have that problem, just the 5.4 3v.

Well that explains why the NAPA dealer supplied what I'll refer to as "normal looking" spark plugs (looked nothing like the two piece style I saw in the pictures here on this site.

Good for me and my 4.2; bad for those with the 5.4.

Thanks for the info.
